Lady Magpie & Me Spring Fair now on the 6th April


Okay so snow might have stopped us but Lady Magpie & Me Spring Fair will now be on Saturday 6th April, we'll still be at Castle Douglas Town Hall from 10am till 4pm. So just under two weeks to wait folks. We hope you can all come along and join us. Lots more details to follow as there will be some changes to the original line up and goings on on the day.

Sadly some of our stallholders can't make this new date so there are some last spaces that have become available. Please email Leah at hello@ladymagpieandme.co.uk if you're interested in finding out more. Include a short description and some photographs or a link to your website, facebook etc.

It has not been an easy decision to make but sadly Lady Magpie & Me Spring Fair at Castle Douglas has now been postponed, due to adverse weather and travelling conditions.



So we hope you can all join us on Saturday 6th April, we promise more details coming soon.

Lady Magpie & Me Spring Fair - Who's there on the day

PLEASE NOTE: 
Due to severe weather Lady Magpie & Me Spring Fair has now been postponed to the 6th April, so we hope you can join us.




Join Lady Magpie & Me at the Spring Fair in the bustling market town of Castle Douglas on the 23rd March from 10am  till 4pm, its £1 entry and kids go free. Browse 40 stalls over two floors. The Town Hall will be full to the brim with craft, handmade and vintage items, food and so much more. 

Enjoy a Ceramic Easter Workshop with Flossy Teacake
Why not come to a craft workshop hosted by Flossy teacake while you visit us at Lady Magpie & Me Spring Fair. In between shopping, sipping tea & eating cake you could enjoy a crafty class learning how to embellish and decorate two of your very own handmade ceramic Easter decoration. The workshop is 1 hour, costs £5 and is at 2.30pm, suitable for children and adults. Places are limited so get in touch if you'd like to reserve a place, just email hello@ladymagpieandme.co.uk. We'd love to know if you'd love to join us.

There's also some crafty goings ons on the day with Mr.P, who will be hosting a free drop in Easter Workshops for Kids at 11.30am till 12.30pm in the Main Hall. Mr P. comes straight from the primary school classroom bubbling over with ideas. Mr. P. will teach a range of skills based on his experience in primary schools across Dumfries & Galloway. 

And if taking part is just not your thing then why not take a seat and be inspired by Blooms Florist demonstrating some spring time floristry at 10.30am and 1pm too.



Murray, Stewart & Burns
As well as 40 rather marvellous stalls there's also lots going on throughout the day.
We'll have the lovely ladies that are Murray, Stewart & Burns singing a song or too! They'll be performing live throughout the day to all our lovely visitors. We will of course have our vintage style soundtrack playing along in between.



Homes & Antiques will be coming too!
We're really rather thrilled to welcome along Homes & Antiques magazine to the Spring Fair. Their northern agent, the wonderful Juliet will have some super duper offers in store for our visitors. Buy the April issue for just £2 rrp. £3.99. Also back issues for £1.......And a subscription offer of 5 issues for £5. Good eh?!!

Crafty Lou - Louise McLaren
Crafty Lou - Louise McLaren is a paper cutting artist, she designs and hand cuts, unique, delicate paper cut images. Her work is inspired by phrases of love and courage and fragments of poetry, producing romantic, delicate, images which capture the wealth and depth of emotion that a few words can convey. Louise also makes personalised papercut designs to celebrate weddings, anniversaries and new arrivals. 

The Galloway Fudge Company
The Galloway Fudge Company is located in the beautiful Scottish countryside where their delicious sweets are all freshly made. There’ll be homemade fudge, marshmallows, traditional Scottish butter tablet and macaroon bars too.

Rachel’s Wonders Jewellery
Rachel’s Wonders Jewellery is an Aladins Cave of many styles and colours. The pieces are individually hand cast and coloured resin, which enables the customer to customise their wears in their chosen colour! We look forward to welcoming Rachel over the border to Lady Magpie & Me Spring Fair.

flossy teacake
flossy teacake love nothing more than playing with imagination and childhood memories through mixing and combining ceramics, textiles and mixed-media, which develop into curious 2D and 3D illustrations of village life. Their work has a childlike unpredictability and a nostalgic charm and they have purposely manipulated scale and proportion, removing a conventional sense of reality. Flossy teacake will also be hosting a ceramic workshop at 2.30pm.

Mrs Green’s Tea Lounge
Shop ‘til you drop then visit Mrs Green’s if you fancy putting your feet up and enjoying a nice cup of tea and a tasty treat served in Mrs Green’s best vintage china. Elastic pants at the ready as these a whole host of cake on the menu. Oh my ears and whiskers! It's Peter Rabbit's Carrot Cake, Whooppeeeeeeeeeee! Wait til you taste to our Wonderful World of Whoopie Pies, Easter Bunny Chocolate Brownies and Clementine and Dark Chocolate (the BEST gluten free cake in the word, baby) are just some of the delights on offer.
.....And after the runaway success of her Comic Relief Bake Sale Mrs Green is proud to introduce Miss Green with her delicicious Chocolate Crispy Nests adorned with marvellous Mini Eggs.

Little Vintique
Little Vintique: purveyors of vintage homewares and finders of treasure. They sell vintage/retro art, homewares & collectables. Little Vintique also source fine interior pieces i.e. art, furniture, lighting etc for private clients. 

Lynsey Walters Jewellery
Lynsey Walters Jewellery designs and makes felted wool jewellery and hair accessories. Combining industrial wool felt alongside handmade felt and using embellishments such as gold printing foil, dyed shell buttons and vintage buttons and found haberdashery objects.

So Sew Pretty
At So Sew Pretty, you’ll learn heaps of new skills. There’ll be a selection of fabrics, ribbons and trims and details of all upcoming So Sew Pretty sewing and crafting workshops.

Morag Macpherson Textiles
We're really pleased to welcome along locally based Morag Macpherson Textiles to our Lady Magpie & Me Winter Fair. Morag creates surface pattern for textiles and wallpaper, her patterns are influenced by different cultures, art movements in history, natural and urban formations. These illustrations are then digitally printed onto pure silks, natural linens, fine wools, crisp cottons and wallpapers. She sells limited edition scarves, cushions, throws, bags, wall hangings and a range of one-off wearable art.

Choose a cheese
High quality cows, goats and sheep cheese from Scotland and further afield. 


Sarah-Jane Coleby Artist

Sarah-Jane Coleby Artist is a needle felt artist based in Dumfries & Galloway. She takes inspiration from beasties near and far and turns wool into mini works of art through the magic of needle felting. We're delighted that she'll be taking part in Lady Magpie & Me Spring Fair



Creeside Charcuterie

Based on a 200 acre working farm in glorious South West Scotland, they make a selection of 
artisan charcuterie and antipasti using locally sourced ingredients. Look out for pate, terrine, parfait, hummus, lamb chorizo and much, much more. We will be bringing with us our new flavour of Pate ~ Chicken Liver, Orange & Cointreau ~ limited stocks so come and find us early so that you don't miss out!

Cotton Heart Studio
We’re super pleased to welcome local business Cotton Heart Studio to our Winter Fair. Expect a lovely mix of handmade crochet garlands, coasters, blankets, scarves and decorations.

Grannie Jean's
Fresh traditionally Home Baked Products, Meat and Vegetarian Varieties of Pasties., Meat Pies & Quiches. Traditionally made Pork pies, inc Layered Pork Pies eg: Pork and Game, Pork and Haggis.

Couthie Gifts
Couthie Gifts, a braw wee company designing great gifts with a vintage, often humorous Scottish flavour! They'll bringing their designs to the LM&M for the very first time.

Vi Nouveau
We'll be welcoming Vi Nouveau to the Spring Fair for the first time too. They specialise in selling a wide range of customised vintage clothing, accessories and jewellery to both men and women.

Scamp Baby Gifts

Scamp Baby Gifts is two sisters screen printing, making and designing cool kids wear, room accessories and little gifts. Their designs are inspired by the sisters love of simplicity and bright colour and their products ensure style is not forgotten when it comes to the littlest members of the household!

Natalie Farrell
Local mother and daughter business Natalie Farrell design and make a range of bags and purses. Their designs incorporate plenty of vintage buttons, polka dots and beautiful printed fabrics!

Galloway Chillies
Galloway Chillies will be coming along for the very first time. They're a new business, launched in Oct 2012, producing their own range of preserves and supplying fresh chillies and plants. They're based in South West Scotland not far from Wigtown – Scotland’s National Book Town and are Scotland’s second chilli farm. With a range of chillies, ranging from mild to super hot. All our products use chillies which have been grown in Britain and they plan to eventually use their own home grown chillies.

Golding’s Old Things
Golding’s Old Things values possessions that have been loved in an earlier life. Expect a stall brimming with beautiful, practical and fun vintage homewares.We sell beautiful china pieces, luminous glassware, nostalgic pictures, elegant mirrors, an eclectic range of textiles, quirky small salvage items et cetera!This spring Mr GOT will be bringing his range of ‘Men’s Vintage’.  Stone troughs, sinks, milk churns, gardenalia and a range of useful and curious tools, et cetera!!



Circa 72 Jewellery 
Circa 72 Jewellery was created in 2010 and is the creative passion of Glasgow based designer and maker Kary Purvis. Kary takes inspiration from nature, her childhood surroundings and personal treasured memories to create beautiful and unique jewellery. Selecting her materials carefully, Kary works mainly in silver using accents of gold and semi precious stones.

Earth's Crust Bakery
Are you a lover of bread? Well, you'll be delighted to hear that family run artisan baker's The Earth's Crust Bakery in the small village of Laurieston will be at our Spring Fair. They produce delicious slow fermented handmade breads. They sold out rather quickly at the Winter Fair so come early if you don't want to go home empty handed.

Catriona Archibald
Catriona Archibald is a contemporary crafts person based in Carlisle working with ceramics and textiles to create beautiful keepsakes and functional loveliness for the home. Up cycled vintage crockery, hand built and slip cast ceramics and unique textile creations make up a treasure trove waiting to be discovered.

Blooms Florist
The design team at Blooms Florist, led by Margaret and Dawn Robson continually strive to create truly beautiful, bespoke, inspiring and innovative Floristry. Using only the finest flowers and materials available they consistently produce beautiful floral works of art to the delight of their clients.

Ivy Rose Vintage
A love of vintage china and candles has inspired Ivy Rose Vintage to collect and upcycle these into lovely soya wax candles and vintage cake stands. They also handpick a mix of vintage and retro homewares including tea and coffee sets, vintage and retro glassware and unusual vintage pretties for the home.

Moffat Water Foods Ltd
Moffat Water Foods Ltd are new independent producers of smoked trout based just outside Moffat. All of our trout are reared and raised on our own fresh water farm in the Moffat Water Valley which benefits from having some of the cleanest water in Scotland flowing through it.  This plus sustainable, welfare-focused farming and a natural way of slow-smoking produces, in the words of my customers, the best smoked trout available.  

The Vintage Vendors
We source, sell and collect ceramics, collectables and small items of furniture from the 1950s. We will be selling ceramics and collectables from the 1950s as well as small items of furniture including magazine racks, coffee tables and mirrors.

Splashpoint Art
Splashpoint Art produce a range of unique and contemporary tableware from original art work by D&G based artist Pauline James. They also publish children’s titles – The Belties of Curleywee Farm and Charlotte’s Woolly Yarn and a range of merchandise to go with them. Come and see them at LM & M Spring Fair, its their first time at the fair so I hope you'll make them feel very welcome.

Tiny Tots Togs
My mum taught me the joys of sewing from a young age.  We used to spend many an afternoon being creative and making all sorts of things.  The patterns I use today are from the dresses my sister and I used to wear in our childhood. I hope your little ones enjoy wearing them as much as i enjoy making them!

The Nail Factory
The Nail Factory is a community gallery but for the Spring Fair it will be hosting a vintage stall specialising in high quality men’s clothing and accessories.


Just the Biscuit 
Just the Biscuit sell an eclectic mix of vintage cutlery, kitchen utensils, linens, porcelain, kitsch ornaments, glass ware and much, much more including their trademark handmade felt biscuits. Come and browse their stall at Lady Magpie & Me Spring Fair.

PMC Photography
We’re thrilled to welcome back PMC Photography to this year’s fair. With award winning photography of glorious Galloway, Phil’s images aim to capture the very essence of this region, from traditional landscapes to fine art and abstract interpretations.

Leah Halliday
As well as organising Lady Magpie & Me, Leah will be selling her designs at the Spring Fair. Leah lovingly creates a collection of handmade gifts and homewares that combines her lifelong love of craft and all things vintage from her studio in the South West of Scotland. Leah finds herself inspired by fabrics, vintage bits and pieces, nostalgic images, ribbons and trims. She loves nothing better than turning something old and forgotten into something beautiful & new.

Abbotts Chocolates
Now it wouldn't be Easter without chocolate, so its a good job we have Abbotts Chocolates coming along to the  Fair. Based in the Scottish Border town of Langholm, Abbotts Chocolates specialises in hand-made, delicious chocolates. Its their very first time at our events so we're looking forward to tasting their wares.


Tootie McLeod
Tootie Mcloed sell a handpicked selection of pre loved children's clothes alongside vintage toys and books. 

Dizzymafella
Dizzymafella is based in the beautiful Scottish Borders and creates a range of quirky home-ware products from repurposed textiles.

Kaixe
Kaixe will be back at the Lady Magpie & Me Spring Fair. There a small baking business based in Dumfries, Kaixe create cupcakes - both mini and regular sized - and celebration cakes for every occasion. Expect a mouth-watering array of delicious treats.

Fortune Favours the Brave
Fortune Favours the Brave is a design led Scottish Gift company inspired by our wonderful humour and beautiful surroundings. From Mugs to T shirts everything they make is U.K. sourced and based and now added to the stable are Oor Wullie & The Broons products too. 

Caroline Nash Crafts
Crammed full of individually crafted quirky and contemporary ceramics and textiles for the home and garden, all of Caroline’s work is designed with a vintage feel.

Dazed Dorothy
Dazed Dorothy is the beautiful accessories label brought to you by Textile Designer Corinne Robinson. She designs & creates Fabulous & Dramatic Clutch Bags & other accessories including Belts, Purses & Handbags using a gorgeous array of leather and suedes. Embellished with dramatic bows, vintage buttons and petals, each piece has it’s own story to tell.

Officially Official

It's officially official, our certificate arrived to say Lady Magpie & Me were voted first by readers of Pretty Nostalgic Magazine as the BRITAIN'S BEST ARTS & CRAFT MARKET. Here at Lady Magpie & Me we're feeling rather proud.

We'd to take a photo of us proudly showing off our certificate to the lovely folks at Pretty Nostalgic, they were writing a feature for their website. So armed with a rather pretty vintage patchwork quilt and a washing line this is the result, the magpie got in too.  You can read the feature HERE which includes all the winners including us!

We would like to say an ENORMOUS thank you to one and all. We've just found out that Lady Magpie & Me has WON Britain's Best Arts & Craft Market in Pretty Nostalgic magazines search for Britain's Best Markets.
